Position description

In summer 2026, Jadran, Rijeka, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel will open – a new chapter for one of Rijeka’s most recognisable hotels, now as part of Marriott International. As part of the hotel, a new culinary hub will also open – a restaurant, bar and lounge conceived as venues of strong character and a high level of service. We are looking for a waiter / waitress who understands that outstanding service does not begin only with the plate or the glass, but with the way the guest is guided through the entire experience.

Responsibilities

  • Serving food and drinks professionally and attentively while creating a personalised experience for every guest
  • Actively recommending dishes and drinks through a strong knowledge of the offer, local ingredients and the story behind each dish
  • Guiding guests through the dining experience in a professional and natural way, including basic food and drink pairing
  • Working closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure the guest experience is aligned, professional and seamless
  • Preparing and maintaining tables, service areas and the workspace in line with high standards of service and presentation
  • Working in accordance with clearly defined service standards and operational procedures of an international hotel system

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality, preferably in restaurants or higher-category hotels
  • Knowledge of food, beverages and the basics of pairing
  • Strong communication skills and a natural sense of hospitality and personalised service
  • An interest in local ingredients, gastronomy and the way the offer is communicated to guests
  • Professionalism, confidence and composure in a dynamic environment
  • Responsibility, organisation and reliability in day-to-day work
  • Knowledge of English; additional languages are an advantage
  • A team-oriented mindset and a strong focus on high service standards
