Position description

In summer 2026, Jadran, Rijeka, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel will open – a new chapter for one of Rijeka’s most recognisable hotels, now as part of Marriott International. As part of the hotel, a new culinary hub will also open – a restaurant, bar and lounge conceived as venues of strong character and a high level of service. We are looking for a chef who can bring together local ingredients, a contemporary culinary approach and high standards of execution.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and presenting dishes in line with the restaurant’s high standards
  • Working with seasonal and local ingredients, with an emphasis on quality and clarity of flavour
  • Contributing to the creation and execution of the menu through a contemporary culinary approach and an understanding of the local character of the offer
  • Ensuring consistent quality, presentation and precision in every dish prepared
  • Maintaining hygiene standards and kitchen cleanliness in line with HACCP rules
  • Working closely with the rest of the kitchen and service team to ensure a seamless and well-aligned guest experience
  • Working in accordance with clearly defined quality standards and operational procedures of an international hotel system

Qualifications

  • Experience working in a professional kitchen, preferably in hotels or higher-category restaurants
  • Knowledge of modern culinary techniques and an understanding of the fundamentals of contemporary gastronomy
  • An understanding of seasonality and the ability to work with local ingredients
  • A strong sense of precision, organisation and attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of dishes
  • A responsible, calm and professional approach to work, even in a dynamic environment
  • A team-oriented mindset and a strong focus on high execution standards
  • An interest in gastronomy with a clear identity and character
  • Respect for hygiene standards, cleanliness and discipline in the kitchen
