Position description

In summer 2026, Jadran, Rijeka, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel will open – a new chapter for one of Rijeka’s most recognisable hotels, now as part of Marriott International. We are looking for someone who understands that the front desk is not just a place for check-in and check-out, but where first impressions are formed, trust is built, and the overall guest experience takes shape. We are seeking a professional, confident and guest-focused individual who can combine high service standards with a warm, natural and personalised approach.

Responsibilities

  • Professionally and warmly welcoming guests and managing check-in and check-out processes with a high level of service and a personalised approach 
  • Handling reservations, payments and administrative processes in line with hotel and brand standards
  • Communicating with guests on a daily basis and providing accurate, timely and relevant information about the hotel, its services and the destination 
  • Providing carefully considered recommendations about the hotel, Rijeka and local experiences, in line with the brand concept and standards
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure a seamless, precise and consistent guest experience
  • Handling enquiries, special requests and any complaints discreetly, calmly and efficiently
  • Working in accordance with clearly defined service standards and operational procedures of an international hotel system 

Qualifications

  • Previous experience working at a front desk, preferably in higher-category hotels
  • Excellent command of at least one foreign language; additional languages are an advantage
  • Proficiency in computer use and hotel PMS / reservation systems
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build a professional rapport with guests
  • Calm, reliable and professional approach in a dynamic environment
  • Understanding the importance of consistency, precision and professional communication in every guest interaction
  • A strong eye for detail, discretion and service standards
  • A team-oriented mindset and a responsible approach to work
